What can be faulty?

  • USB-C or a conventional charging connector is loose, damaged or only works in a certain position.
  • The device does not accept power from the charger.
  • The battery does not charge even though the charger appears to work.
  • The fault is in a charging controller, charging circuit or power rail on the motherboard.
  • USB-C Power Delivery communication or its controller is causing the problem.

Bring the charger

  • If the problem involves charging, it is useful to bring the charger normally used with the device.
  • This makes it easier to distinguish between a charger fault, connector fault and a fault in the computer itself.

When the fault is on the motherboard

  • USB-C connectors, charging controllers and parts of the charging circuit are often mounted directly on the motherboard.
  • If the repair requires board-level work on these parts, it is treated as a motherboard repair.
  • Diagnostic inspection: 5,000 ISK.
  • Motherboard repair: 7,500 ISK, including the first hour of motherboard repair work after diagnostics.
  • Additional motherboard repair time: 5,000 ISK per hour.
  • Parts are extra where applicable.
